Vehicle description
RARE Here we have a ready to rock! LS3 6L80 1961 Buick LeSabre Bubble Top Coupe.
I purchased this car out of the Southwest. Original California car. This car is DRY, RUST FREE, STRAIGHT. Mostly original paint as far as I can tell. I can’t find any major body work, no damage repair. There is, personally, NO WAY I would paint this car. A good buff and this paint will dazzle for sure. My plan was paint and hand pinstripe. .HOT ROD style.
Power Steering, Power Brakes, Vintage Air A/C
Chrome is a little dusty in the pics, bumpers were recently rechromed and are spectacular. The bumpers are near perfect. All the chrome, bright and emblems are present on the car.
The upholstery is Near NEW. .done! Dash is in exceptional condition and gauges work. After market radio hidden in ashtray compartment. Antenna engages, and sounds like it is working but does not go up. A little research says the roller needs replaced. .not to hard to do. Good news is that the motor works and engages. steering wheel looks awesome. Some patina but in excellent condition. .very important as these are hard to find.
Here is the BIG news. This car has a working LS3 and 6L80 transmission installed and working. It runs hard and strong and shifts effortlessly. Very clean and tidy install. Previous owner installed new Bilstein shocks and lowered the springs to give it current stance. Also installed new Holley low profile engine and transmission oil pans so the car could be lowered to current stance.
Power assist front disk brakes are rebuilt and work perfectly. 18 front, 20 rear Hot Rods by Boyd wheels are fitted with new Nitto NT555.
New Vintage Air A/C blows cold. Huge addition.
Bench seats are done in gray vinyl with patterned cloth inserts. Sonomatic AM radio houses modern ECU, Mirromatic speedometer with adjustable view and GPS link.
Odometer shows 4500 miles with actual mileage unknown.
I have more pics that I can send to serious interested buyers. I also have a walk around and a driving video.
My plan for this car was to add a custom rear end, 4 link rear suspension and air ride to make a ridiculous and rare LS3 Bubble top restomod. The Hard work of LS3 and 6L80 trans, along with the complicated wiring, is DONE! You could absolutely drive this car as it sits and wow everyone, as I have. My retirement plans have changed and I can no longer take on this project. This is a super rare car and a very rare opportunity
This second-generation LeSabre is sold with a clean Ohio title in the seller’s name.
