Vehicle description
Up for sale is a real sweetheart from 1960. Here we have a true survivor Studebaker Lark VIII Coupe. 259 V8 and an automatic transmission. This would have been the top of the line Lark in 1960. To make it even better is that this car was owned by the original family until at least 2010!
Still wears 95% of it"s original Pacific Blue paint with some touch up"s only. You can see where both front fenders have been repaired and touched up. The repair is very old and I"d call it a 6-7 out of 10 quality wise. Some typical road rash on the front header as well but it"s all original patina. We had the paint corrected upon our ownership and the result was AMAZING. The 61 year old paint really came back to life! The interior is completely original and you rarely see this in Studebakers of this vintage. Showing some minor wear at the upper left side corner and seen in the pics. The car is VERY solid with little to no rust whatsoever. Undercarriage is clean with just typical 61 year old scale.
I searched a long time to find this original of an example Lark but soon after found another. It"s twin. Therefor we have no need for two in the collection. Otherwise this car would not be for sale. It really checks all the boxes for me. Original paint and interior, V8 and an automatic transmission! PLUS, It"s a two door pillarless COUPE! Also, there is a lot of original documentation to go with the car. Build sheet, window sticker and the original bill of sale from the selling dealer in Kansas. I even have an old photograph of the original owner standing with the car taken in the early 1970"s!
Mechanically the cars starts right up and runs well. Probably could use a good tune and fluid change. The brakes stop the car but feel weak. Assume it needs a full brake job. The two rear 1/4 windows are hard to lower. Probably never have been! All could be sorted in a weekend. Overall this car is very nice. A driver quality car that could do well in a survivor class at a show.
I have a clean, Kansas title for the car but noticed just tonight a clerical error on the VIN. I see this over and over with old cars that have been retitled throughout the years. Can be rectified I suppose but for me, I"d just go with it as it"s shown on the title. If your state requires a VIN check then that could be a headache and I don"t want to cause any buyers any headaches.
Feel free to ask questions. I can take a customized video also for serious buyers. My price is extremely reasonable. Please, no ridiculous offers. I"m very confident this car will sell and be enjoyed by it"s next caretaker. I can arrange shipping at a reasonable cost to anywhere in the world!
