This is the most charming Renault 4CV i think I have ever seen. It was sold new at Paulins in Tucson, Arizona, a Cadillac dealer turned Renault dealer.
The car has been off the road for around 38 years. The 4CV is totally original and untouched, original paint, original interior etc. The body is 100% rust free.
The color is a beautiful blue/green color that was only available in 1960 and possible also in 1961, I"m not sure.
After the long storage I have done a complete brake rebuild including new hoses, turned brake drums, new master cylinder and new shoes. We also gave the engine a full service with oil, spark plugs, new plug wires and of course a new battery. The carburetor has not been rebuilt yet but I"m sure it needs to be done. The engine was started up 2 weeks ago.
The fuel tank was sent to a radiator shop to go in their caustic soda tank and it is clean and nice inside now.
The 4CV is not ready to drive yet, there"s still minor service work to do and we need to install new tail lights stil, we have them.
I bought my first Renault 4CV almost 50 years ago and I love them, don"t think I have ever found one so totally original as this one though.
I have to be honest, I don"t want to sell this car but as I am getting older and closer to wanting to retire I know I should sell some of my old cars so, if it sell, good for the new owner and if it does not sell, good for me. I have several other 4CV cars, one with a Dauphine Gordine engine, trans and disc brakes, one with an R8 engine and transmission, one is a convertible (Decapotable) that I am doing a full restoration on at the moment but this green car is the nicest original 4CV I have because it is so untouched.
I own a Classic car restoration shop in Phoenix, Arizona, Copperstate Classic Cars since 35 years back and we have sold and exported old cars since 1986 so we do sell in the US and all over the world so export is never a problem.
