Vehicle description
For sale is my all original 1960 F100 short bed. It has the 223 cid 6 cylinder with the rare Fordomatic auto transmission. The rear axle is original Ford 9-inch with 3.89:1 gears.
This truck had sat in a barn or shed since 1974 (until Spring 2018) and still has the 1974 WV state inspection sticker on the windshield. It"s now resurrected with many new parts including the fuel tank, lines, pump, and carb kit; aluminum radiator, water pump, thermostat, freeze plugs, hoses; generator brushes and regulator; brake master cylinder, lines, hoses, wheel cylinders, shoes (on one axle, the others were fine); transmission service and filter with new fluid. New shocks, windshield wipers, and new tires. Everything has less than 900 miles since getting it going. The engine and transmission have been serviced and run well but they haven"t been rebuilt - no need to. There are probably lots of other items I"m forgetting.
It is all original with 110,032 miles at the moment. I"ve driven it about 900 miles this year and it runs good. It starts, runs, and drives fine. The entire steering system is tight including the kingpins. It has overload springs in the rear (a dealer or aftermarket addition from back in the 60"s) with new u-bolts.
The seat is in amazing condition with only 2 cigarette burns in it (also from back in the 60"s or 70"s). The doors shut like they are brand new. The dash is original and everything works like it should. The steering wheel is also in great condition with no cracks - it spent a long time without being exposed to the sun.
Everything works like it"s supposed to and nothing has been hacked up. The doors lock properly. The glass is good except for a cracked driver"s door window (I didn"t want to change it - it matches the theme of the truck). It has the original rubber floor mat that is in good condition. Overall it"s in great condition for the age. I tried to keep it looking real and honest for a 60 year old truck, so i left the white paint original.
That"s not to say it"s perfect at all though - the body is good, smooth and solid with new red paint but not perfect. The pictures tell the story - the red portion of the body was repaired, smoothed, and painted with Hot Rod Flatz while the white portion remains completely original to 1960. The patina is perfect, and the body is smooth. The bed has barnwood in the floor to match the theme - the original bed floor is intact and painted underneath. It has a little rust around the edges but not much.
This has been a fun project but I can"t store it and it needs to go. Please feel free to ask any questions. I"m in Union WV 24983. Come and check it out if you want.
