Mileage: 0 - Stock #127044 - Project boat, Gaff rigged spruce planked schooner ballast consisting of 5,000 lbs. of lead replacing the iron that was there originally1960 CUSTOM 42 SCHOONER THIS IS A PROJECT BOAT AND YOU WOULD HAVE TO DO AN IN DEPTH SURVEY BY A PROFESSIONAL TO DETERMINE WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE IF IT IS ALL POSSIBLE TO BRING THIS ONE BACK TO LIFE.THE ACTUAL LOA IS 43"4"Bow to stern is 32"6"The additional bowsprit is 6"This 1960 Schooner was built by Aenaes Campbell, Master Carpenter and builder, in Astoria, NY. The frames are white oak, and the planking is white cedar.Both masts are made from a single piece of spruce with no knots. All the spars are also spruce. When the boat was commissioned in 1960, it was launched without propulsion. In 1962 the Westerbeke Diesel was installed. WESTERBEKE 4-107 40 HP DIESELOriginally the ballast was lead and iron, but the owner removed the iron which can rust and added five tons of lead inside the white oak keel. This built in fashion of the Famous "Blue Nose" 130" schooner. There have been other updates as well. An electric refrigerator was installed along with shore power. Pressure water and electric flush toilet have also been added. The sail inventory has been updated from canvas to dacron. The canvas sails are still in the inventory. The boat is prepped for bottom paint, and the topsides have been prepped as well. THIS IS A PROJECT FOR THE RIGHT PERSON - THAT WOULD BE SOMEONE WITH SOLID WORKING HANDS ON KNOWLEDGE OF RESTORING A WOODEN SAILBOAT THAT HAS NOT BEEN IN THE WATER FOR QUITE SOME TIME.We are looking for people all over the country who share our love for boats.
