This beautiful car was restored and then driven around California in search of fun and fuel. It remains in good condition even after 3 decades since the refurbishment. The car has had a color change from white to burgundy. The interior is partially original. The burgundy parts are velour which was changed from the original vinyl. The car is also in need of carpets which would add quite a bit to the already gorgeous interior. This vehicle starts easily and goes straight on down the road. The layout and operation of the car is very user friendly and enjoyable. The brakes are firm and work well and it runs out nicely on the straightaways. The lights work, blower works, lighter works, radio works and wipers too. Enthusiasts agree, The Borgward is a fine vehicle and this one is a splendid example. It does have its bumps and bruises and the interior could be perked up a bit. The clutch engages with confidence and the motor is crisp with no smoke at all or odd noises.
