Bullet-proof reliability, agile performance and great fun to drive. The PV544 was a frequent winner on the rally circuit during its production years. This one"s older restoration, housed in an environmentally controlled garage, is holding up excellently. It features the correct Flame Red paint in very good condition and a factory correct red/white vinyl interior imported from Sweden. The chrome and other bright work are very good, and the body, frame and floor pans are essentially rust free. The engine compartment could use a few hours of detailing to bring it up to the level of the rest of the car. The drive train starts with a B-18 1.8L four cylinder 95 HP engine coupled with a 4-speed manual transmission. Carburation is provided by twin SU HS6 carbs. The car starts and runs great. The PV544 was so beloved by Volvo"s customers that after production of the model ended in 1965 Volvo published advertisements imploring its customers not to be angry with the company!
