Vehicle description
This is and amazing example of the highly desirable crew cab transporter pickup. The truck was purchased from Arizona in 2000 and enjoyed a caring and and high quality restoration over a 10 year period.
The truck was completely disassembled and then media blasted inside and out. This removed all of the old paint. It was primed and painted to VW original colors of sealing wax red and ivory white. The drop gates are in the best condition i have ever seen and are amazing to look at. Installed oak slats in the bed. The interior has had a complete restoration, including the door and ceiling panels, floor mat, even the gauges were professionally checked. New wiring harness and electricals. The safari windows are high quality replacements, KOCH steering wheel, All new glass was cut for the windows and all new gaskets front to rear.All new brake lines, fuel lines, shocks, tie rods, tires (5), shift bushings, the fuel shut off was replaced, new headlights and tail lights. This truck has a matching spare and jack, it even has the church key. All data plates are intact. The engine was disassembled and got a nice rebuild, new tin and all ignition components. It does have a 1600 dual port and this is not the original engine. The engine and truck have 3 miles on it since the restoration was finished. The transmission was gone trough l. New clutch cables, new e-brake cables, wheel cylinders, brake master. This is probably the most complete restoration i have ever seen. comes with cover and a small box of parts, the factory service manual. Starts runs and drives straight, brakes are great. all lights work. Shipping is the buyers responsibility, Comes with a bill of sale only as Maine does not provide one for a vehicle of this age. True mileage is unknown, TMU. I have made every effort to describe this vehicle accurately, I may have missed something as this restoration has been a 10 year project.
