Vehicle description

SPECIAL SALE! ! Triumph TR3A For sale is a solid mid-1959 year production TR3A. This TR3A was professionally painted black in the late 1970"s; the paint has held up well. The car was sidelined around 1982 due to an isolated small fire in the engine compartment fuse box area. The paint in that area has been damaged. Included in the sale are the paint can, thinner, etc., shown in the last picture. The paint is still liquid; I"m not a painter so I have no idea if it"s still useable or not. Other than that, the car is in excellent shape for its age. The previous owner fiberglassed the floor boards. The rest of the body as a whole is in excellent shape, with no major dings, dents, or rust. Some of the front cowl paint was also damaged in the fire as you can see in the pictures. The hood, trunk lid, and doors open and shut properly. The seats are fixable with the original metal springs and stuffing. It did have seat belts fitted at some point by the previous owner. Other than the floorboards, the interior is solid and very much there. The engine was carefully revived, using lots of PB Blaster, Marvel Magic Mystery oil, and patience. The valve cover gasket was carefully scraped away and replaced with a new cork gasket. The engine now runs very nicely with new plugs, points, rotor, condenser, cap, and spark plug wires. The gas tank still has some lovely old gas in it so it is probably in pretty good shape. We ran the engine by filling the float bowls with gas (numerous times). It purrs rather nicely and I think is quite solid. Gas lines will need to be blown out and the fuel pump will need some attention in order to utilize the fuel system. The starter was rebuilt and is essentially brand new. This is a four speed transmission with what I believe is factory overdrive , original to this car. The rear wheels move nicely when the car is started in each of the four forward gears and also the one reverse gear. The overdrive currently does not engage so I make no promises other than it is there. The complete hydraulic systems (brakes/clutch) will need to be replaced or rebuilt in order to be used. This TR3A comes with a factory steel hardtop ! ! However, it is missing the rear window and the headliner will obviously need to be redone. Included is a tonneau; it is white and in poor shape. The temperature and oil pressure gages are working, as is the tachometer. Since there is essentially no electrical system I cannot comment as to the rest of the systems. I have a clean Texas title for the car. I know some good shipping companies; I will do whatever I can on this end to help you get the car. I have a trailer and we can work out something if you are within a few hundred miles of Richardson, TX. Thank you for looking!
