Vehicle description

Our 1959 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight four-door sedan has been refinished in black over a refreshed red, gray, and white interior, and its 394ci V8 is paired with a four-speed Hydra-Matic automatic transmission. Features include 15″ steel wheels with wire-style covers, drum brakes, and an AM radio. The car was acquired back in 2016, and service since 2019 has included repairing the brake pedal, replacing the fuel tank, and changing the oil. This Ninety-Eight is now offered with some recent receipts, a service manual, an assortment of spare parts, various awards, and a clean Arizona title.
The Ninety-Eight was redesigned for the 1959 model year with a “Linear Look” that featured increased glass area, reduced ornamentation, and headlights split by the turn-signal lenses. The exterior of this example has been refinished in black, and a scratch in the paint as well as two dings in the chrome-finished trim are noted by the seller, as pictured in the photo gallery below.
Black-finished 15″ steel wheels wear wire-style covers and are mounted with Kingstar Centum SK72 235/75 whitewall tires. New-for-1959 “Air-Scoop” drum brakes came standard.
The interior features two bench seats that have been redone in white vinyl with gray accents and textured red cloth inserts. The door panels have been trimmed to match, peppered gray carpeting covers the floors, and a factory AM radio is mounted in the center of the dashboard. The steering-wheel rim exhibits cracking.
Instrumentation includes a horizontal 120-mph speedometer, auxiliary gauges, and warning lights. The five-digit odometer shows 36k miles, approximately 16k of which are said to have been added by the current owner since 2016. True mileage is unknown.

The 394ci Rocket V8 was rated for 315 horsepower and 435 lb-ft of torque, which is delivered to the rear wheels through a four-speed Hydra-Matic automatic transmission. The fuel tank was replaced in 2019, and service in late 2020 included an oil change.
A service manual, an Oldsmobile “Service + Sales” sign, and a number of awards will also go with the car.
