Vehicle description
This is the largest production convertible built by Detroit. A very rare car, one of 2195 built. This 1959 Lincoln convertible has been off the road and in storage since 1970. It is equipped with a 430 CI displacement engine, automatic transmission. Rated at 350 hp. Highly optioned with power steering, brakes, windows, seats, T&C radio, remote mirrors and an automatic headlamp dimmer. This car has a lot of dents and outer panels have rust through in places along the bottom. Front floors intact but rear floor pans need replacement. I have not gained access to the trunk. Unibody underneath looks to be intact and relatively solid with a rust hole the size of a silver dollar on each side ahead of the rear axle. Doors open and close which is a good sign for a convertible car. Bumpers need replacement and the stainless trim along the bottom edges of the body are missing. I did have this car running a few years ago. It sounded and ran surprisingly good, the transmission shifted through all the gears properly but brakes were non functional. Original colors metallic turquoise with turquoise leather interior. Dash pad looks perfect which is unusual for a Lincoln of this year, but interior needs to be completely replaced.
