1959 Hillman Minx. Convertible, Original California black plate car but was shipped east in 2005, unfortunately it sat outside for years up here and the leaking top allowed the floors to rust. Soft areas cut out and floor has been treated with rust treatment. 56k miles appear to be original but no way to prove that. Starts, runs, shifts and stops. Fuel system has been cleaned, new fuel filter, fuel regulator, and wiring to electric pump. New points and condenser, new ignition switch. Motor runs smooth, no smoke or noises but needs freeze plugs replaced (leaking). Brakes are partially rebuilt. Rebuilt master cyl, new front wheel cyls (all 4), new front brake shoes, new hoses. Still needs rear brakes done, but I do have the wheel cyls and hose, needs rear shoes. Clutch works well, trans shifts fine. Top is junk but present. interior cleaned up well, but door panels are warped and needs carpets. Grille is rusty, front bumper is bent, chrome is fair. Doors are rough, plugged drains allowed the doors to fill with water and rust from the inside. Tires are very old but hold air fine.
Purchased this car this summer, thinking i would get it running and drive it around, but I have run out of time and don"t want to store it this winter. My loss your gain. Pretty rare car, good club support and parts suppliers.
