Vehicle description
(423)506-8987) (423) 252-1305 1959 FORD THUNDERBIRD Exterior Color: BLUE Interior Color: BLUE & WHITE Body Type: HARDTOP Transmission: AUTO Mileage: 104,890 Texas car that has original panels and is no rust bucket! 61 pictures on this listing! Vehicle Description WHAT IS THE HISTORY ? Sold in Texas and came to Tennessee. I bought it for the son of a very old man that passed away.
HOW IS THE BODY AS FAR AS RUST? I consider it very good, all the panels look original to me, no hole in the floor and the frame is very solid.
HOW IS THE PAINT? A nice Robin Egg Blue! I see no dents, no rust bubbles or dings, I do see some touched up chips if I look for them. The shine is good and the body is straight down the sides. Not a $20,000 show queen, but a very upper end driver.
HOW IS THE INTERIOR? Not new, but good. Seats show no bad wear, head liner good, carpet a little fuzzy, door panels OK with some minor wrinkles, dash pad very nice.
HOW IS THE ENGINE? Its a 352 cubic inch that runs good, I hear no knocks or rattles.
HOW IS THE TRANSMISSION? Its a automatic that shifts good, I feel no slip.
HEAD LIGHTS WORK! TAIL LIGHTS WORK! BRAKE LIGHTS WORK! DOME LIGHT WORKS! HORN NOT WORKING! AM RADIO NOT WORKING! SPEEDOMETER WORKS! TEMP GAUGE WORKS!
DOES THE AIR CONDITIONER WORK? It blows and kicks in, but is not cold. All the controls seem to work good. I think it is low on Freon gas, it use the old R12 that is very hard to get. Its needs converted to modern gas. I could add some, but it really needs converted, vacuum pulled and filled using a charging station.
GAS GAUGE NOT WORKING, I think its a constant voltage regulator on the back side of the instrument cluster, I have no desire to pull the dash pad and cluster at my age.
The windshield wipers work, but are vacuum and slow.
