Vehicle description
1959 Chevrolet Apache Fleetside 4x4!
This is a very cool find to say the least. The previous 84yr old owner had owned this 59 Chevy since 1968. It was his daily driver for years in Califonia before being retired for a new truck. In the late 80"s the previous owner retired to north Idaho. Thats when he started a frame off restoration and converting the truck from 2wd to 4wd. The restoration was complete in 1991. He used it in nice weather only and was always stored in a shop before I found it. He said that when I drove it out of his shop it was the first time it had ever seen snow lol! The truck was well preserved condidering the previous owner retired as a master heavy equipment mechanic. The original 1959 frame was retained and he added mid 70"s front and rear K10 differentials as well as transmission and t-case. Now the rig not only has 4x4 but also has power disc brakes and power steering. He also installed a mild 350 4blt main with a r/v cam,1.94 heads,Pete Jackon gear drive(the quite one),Edelbrock intake and carb and a HEI distributer. Has the SM420 transmission with compound low 1st gear and a NP205 T-case. I belive the gears a 3.73 in the differentials. All of the fab work was done very nice and looks almost stock. He also did a really cool custom tool box conversion to the bed sides as seen in the pics. This would make a very cool eye catching mobile service rig with your company logo on the doors! Also comes equiped with dual 20 gallon saddle tanks and a tow package. The body is in very solid condition for its age. The paint still shines up nice for a driver and all the chrome has been re dipped and is holding up well. There are a few small bubbles starting on the bottom of the drivers door and some small chips and scratches here and there from age and use. All the glass is in great condtion. All the seals have been replaced at some point. The interior is really clean with recovered bucket seats with tilt and swivel . The dash is uncut but needs a stereo. The original gauge cluster works including speedo, volts, oil pressure and temp. The wipers work great as well as the original heater and defrost. The truck also has a 4inch lift with 33inch tires and aluminum 15inch rims. We changed all the fluids, filters as well as a tune up. I have been driving the truck every day since . The rig runs and drives great and every thing works as it should besides the horn, interior cab light and obviously the radio. Comes with a new stainless bed wood strip kit and a stock horn assembly and cap as well as a interior cab light assembly. Get"s a lot of thumbs up and compliments. If your looking for something different or a great billbord for your company that won"t break the bank you might want to check this 59 Chevy out. Definatly a one of a kind rig! This rig is turn key ready to cruise.
