Vehicle description
If you ever wanted a "59 Cadillac to make as your own, here"s a good place to start! I"ve owned this car since 2012 and as you can see from the pictures when it was red, it was a pretty sharp 4 door. It"s a "Flat Top" Series 62 4 window. I bought it because A. I"m a "59 fan (have owned four), and B. It was a mechanically solid car with great chrome.
In time, we decided to have the bodywork and the bad floorboards repaired. That"s when things went sideways on us. The shop we paid didn"t complete the work and I ended up having to sue to get the car and deposit back (after they moved). I was able to retrieve car, but as you can see, it"s still completely apart and was media blasted. They started some work, cutting out some floor panel, adding some patch panel, but it perhaps was just to appease me with photos of progress. This shop used to be featured on the Discover Channel and I thought they"d be a little more responsible. I was wrong.
Now about this old girl. The previous owner I bought it from had a new fuel tank put in and the transmission rebuilt (it still leaks as most do). I had the carburetor (Carter) rebuilt and had another shop go through the brakes. That"s all it needed and it drove great, the best of the "59"s I"ve had in fact. Maybe it was peppier due to the higher rear gear ratio being an A/C car. Speaking of options, you can see from the body tag that it was originally Dover white with white and black interior. It"s a well optioned car with E-Z Eye Glass (E), Heater (H), Air Conditioning (K), Power windows (X), and Power 6 Way Front Seat (Y). The A/C is no longer original with an aftermarket compressor and evaporator (Mark IV), which is inoperable. All the windows worked, though one of the rears was a little slow. The power seat worked, and overall everything was pretty good on the car before disassembly. When they disassembled the car, they went as far as to take the windows and regulators out of the doors.
I have all the parts for the car stored in a trailer and it does in fact run and drive. The brakes are dragging now, due to either the dustless blasting media or time putting some surface rust in the drums.
The car has a reasonable reserve. I can assist with loading and perhaps transport. Ask any questions you may have. Happy Bidding! On Sep-11-19 at 00:18:47 PDT, seller added the following information: Note, only 1/2 of the items stored in the trailer pictures are for the four door in this auction. The shop I retrieved my cars from also had my black "59 coupe for a more extensive modification restoration. Lucky me, I have two "59"s apart thanks to Slicks Garage.
When I retrieved the cars, we were able to put most of the parts inside each car, loading each into a 24" trailer and using the pickup bed for smaller parts, so you"ll need at least that to get the car and all the parts safely. I own the truck and trailer still if the buyer needs assistance.
The four door is for sale in order to free up room and the trailer. I need the room enough to take a big loss. Otherwise I"d keep it.
I"ll get a seat of some type in and take pictures or video on the road soon if possible.
I also have a TON of other parts and parts car I"ll eventually sell. On Sep-11-19 at 14:41:42 PDT, seller added the following information: I put a battery in the car, drove it around and made a video. The brakes aren"t dragging now, but you can feel a pulse, so they likely need to be run more or possibly have the drums turned smooth. I"m imagining there may be sediment or a rust spot. I also took more pictures, but Ebay isn"t allowing me to upload?
Also, to be clear on a couple items, the new floorbaords and other new items I have do go with the car (carpet, door seals, etc). And the car is in primer with the older photos in red only there to show what it looked like before disassembly by Slicks Garage from Discovery"s Highway to Sell show.

Please ask if you have any questions. If I must relist the auction, I will do a better job with the additional pictures I"ve taken when outside and on the road. On Sep-14-19 at 06:05:59 PDT, seller added the following information: I CAN"T REVISE THE REVISION I JUST MADE THAT WAS WORDED INCORRECTLY. THERE ARE NO BOXES FULL OF BOLTS TO SORT OUT.
The above is supposed to say "Thankfully, the parts removed at Slicks Garage (by Miles, an actual good guy) were labeled with screws / bolts put back in their mounting holes, so there are NO boxes full of loose bolts to sort out.
The car is not a mess of parts and as I"ve had a few of them, still have others, I put parts where they go together as well.
My apologies for any confusion. I just poured my first cup of coffee on a Saturday morning. On Sep-15-19 at 09:43:41 PDT, seller added the following information: I"ve made two additional videos describing the car and parts. Sorry for the poor auto focusing as I clearly don"t have a good camera setup for it.

If you have questions, please ask. On Sep-16-19 at 06:35:02 PDT, seller added the following information: I opened up the trailer with parts and remade the third video. Disregard the link above. New one here: https:/ youtu.be/RsLjGntuKYo On Sep-16-19 at 08:47:25 PDT, seller added the following information: See third video end about how I may be able to assist with transport if relatively local. Reserve lowered. Good luck, it"s really a great car, I just got burned by a shop and need the room to put the Coupe back together.
