Update: 27 July: Relisting as winning bidder from previous listing requested cancellation of order.
AR1495.06146, Engine 1315 44942, 101 series transmission, white on black interior. Engine out prepping for restoration. A complete, running car prior to disassembly. In addition to the original engine (1300), I have a 1600 with a 5-speed trans, reserving an option for a hot-street build. This can be optional engine may be included in the sale for an additional negotiated amount. The 1600 has dual Weber carbs (original 1300 runs a single Solex).
Upon receipt of the car in 2011, I had a well respected local shop inspect. In subsequent discussion, we decided on disassembly for rotisserie restoration. Shop availability and life events have made it impossible for me to pursue this project.
Currently the engine and transmission are out, trim bits are off and some manual labor has been applied to removing paint. Some project history including photos of car prior to disassembly at https:/ 59spider.xyz.
Centro Documentazione Alfa Romeo (FGA) confirmed the engine is original and correct for this car.
This car is in need of restoration. Although I believe it"s in better condition than other cars of this vintage listed for currently sale on eBay, this is not a rust-free example as I have attempted to depict in the images and on through the text and images on the website https:/ 59spider.xyz. Despite the solid body, in some areas, such as the floor and the passenger front inner fender, the rust presents as a hole which would be repaired in your restoration. Replacement sheet metal is available however I urge you to please inspect the car if you have any hesitation taking on this work through buying the car. If you bid and win, then change your mind, you agree to forfeit your deposit.
