Vehicle description

This Jeep has had a LOT done to it to make it more enjoyable to drive - it will turn heads. You will have people ask to take your photo. People will want rides. Don’t plan to go to the parts store without a crowd ready to meet you when you exit. It’s also fully capable of using the 9-foot bed like it was intended to. I’ve put $30K into this truck. It"s registered and titled in NJ without any problem at all. I’ve owned three Jeep FC170s (including this) and with this one, I wanted to create an FC that didn’t have the standard FC shortcomings that make them a bit tough for everyday driving and hauling - not being able to go over 45 with all 115hp they were packing and a distinct lack of stopping power. I know, there are purists out there who wouldn’t change a thing about how an FC runs and drives - I used to be one of them. Then I found this FC, with hardly any rust, but missing an engine, transmission, transfer case, and rear axle. Time to get to work! This truck was built up as rear wheel drive only for hauling stuff and having fun. No transfer case - I didn’t plan to take a 60+ year old truck off-roading. The build was from 2017-2019. Only selling now because we’re way too busy with the kids and just not finding the time to enjoy the truck. It starts right up and runs great - it’s basically a rat rod truck - a little rough looking but very functional with some great FC upgrades. Here’s a short list of what build-up the Jeep has had in order to make it the truck you see today - this list is not comprehensive - really just a list of highlights, but it’s pretty much all freshly built truck that looks like an old FC: - Built SBC V8 327 with camel hump heads out of a ’68 corvette - makes 400hp with 3500 miles since the rebuild was completed - it’ll easily take this FC to 70mph, but I didn’t have the guts to take it further - it is an FC after all - TH400 trans with a shift kit - only 500 miles since full rebuild - B&M Z-Gate shifter - if you don"t know how to shift this, it"s very easy and automatic - Dana 70-2U rear end - I’m not totally sure about what it came out of…late 90s F350? A buddy helped me source this one - has 8x6.5 bolt pattern - Front axle is the original Dana 44 - didn’t change it since it’s not powered - Steering Dampers added to the front for stability - Custom driveshaft - Custom 6” lift leaf springs from Alcan - Conversion to power steering (new custom-fit steering box, saginaw pump, redone bushings and bearings in the bell crank) - All new steering column, wheel, joints - Conversion to dual master brake cylinder with proportioning valve - Conversion to disc brakes in the front - All new fuel system (aluminum 20gal tank, electric pump, carb, lines) - All new cooling system that took some serious consideration to make great (rad that’s big enough for this engine, new water pump, flex-a-lite electric fan, expansion tank on the back of the cab) - All new wiring throughout the entire truck - has a coil kill switch for a little added security when you’re parked when out and about - All new Autometer gauges including GPS speedometer, fuel level, trans temp, voltmeter, oil pressure, and water temp - they all work properly - New seats - New exhaust (except for headers) with H pipe and flowmaster mufflers I’m sure there are things that were added that I’ve forgotten - please feel free to ask questions and I’ll be happy to answer for you.
A couple of things to note: - The driver window is cracked - it’s flat glass and can be purchased - The headers should be replaced - they’re old and there’s a little hole in the passenger side - all the rest of the exhaust system is new - The body is not perfect, but this is way better than the vast majority of FCs - the photo of the engine is from right when I put it in and got it wired up - the valve covers have a bit of rust now - I"m including new ones with the sale - With the sale I"ll include a big tub of misc parts, FC service manual as well as the wiring guidebook, and little odds and ends for you. - This sale is as-is - it’s a custom truck that I built with the help of a race shop - you’re more than welcome to inspect it prior to auction end
Payment: A non-refundable $500 deposit is due within 48 hours of winning the auction. Full payment is required within 7 days of winning the auction. If deposit and/or full payment are not provided within this timeframe, the truck will be relisted and transaction will be considered void. For balance of payment I accept bank wire transfer, cashier"s check, or personal check (shipment will be delayed until check clears).
Shipping: If you plan to buy and drive home, please keep some things in mind: anything is possible when it comes to a vehicle. I recommend transporting the truck to your home first, then driving it locally to get to know it and its tendencies before going on a long-distance trip. If you choose to drive the truck home, buyer accepts all responsibility as I’m unable to control what may take place once it leaves my home. I have driven it 250 miles in a day, but it’s still an FC and is better trailed any major distance. I can keep the truck in my driveway for up to one month from time of sale at no additional cost while you determine your shipping arrangements. From one month on, the buyer will be responsible for paying $300/month for storage for a maximum of 6 months. I can help load the truck any time you need help.
Warranty: This Jeep is sold "AS IS" and with no warranties expressed or implied. If you choose to waive inspection, I can’t be held liable for anything you or I missed in the description. Ask the hard questions up front. Please just call, I’m here to help and welcome all your questions!
