Vehicle description

Selling our Prestige 1956 Volkswagen Oval Beetle Bug Classic. Featured in 1993 Hot VW Magazine. Complete details are listed in the magazine. My dear friend Ross was the previous owner and he had the complete restoration done. He was the most meticulous person I have ever met as you will see in the pictures and article description. Not sure if numbers matching, but could very well be. NSRA 23 Inspection. Reserve has been set to sell!
If you"re into Ovals, this one will catch your fancy! As it did the judges at the "91 Tri State Auto Show where it won the Best Restored Sports European. Too many shows to list.
Free & Clear Colorado Title, No Rust and always garaged and covered. No issues. Only 450 miles since restoration but greatly maintained! Runs and drives excellent. Attention to Detail # 1 concern! Battery Tender and California Car Cover included. Can deliver. We may consider a trade and all offers but would rather sell outright. We have another Classic in mind to buy. Please feel free to contact me anytime at and ask for Rockie if you would like more pics or have any questions. Please NO scams. We live in Frankston, Texas, just south of Tyler. Thanks for bidding and have a Blessed Day. Here are a few details as listed in magazine:
Original Steel Body painted Beryl Yellow by Gordon L. Hamilton (GHL Enterprises) located in Golden, Colorado Ditzler Acrylic Enamel paint for the body along with trim pieces like steering column, seat bases, shifter, E-Brake handle, and tire wheel centers were painted Ivory. Speaking of wheels, the two-tone 15-inchers are now wrapped with wide whitewalled Denman Elegant 5.60-15s, a nice vintage touch. Other exterior niceties include VW logoed mud flaps, new rubber from West Coast Metric, and an Original wood-slat roof rack! LED rear tail lights were added for better drivability along with passenger side mirror. All Chrome Perfect! With the hood raised, you will see how sanitary the compartment is. New gas tank! Very clean and detailed!
A look into the interior reveals more attention to detail, thanks to the fine sewing talents of Mark Hannum himself, owner of Sewfine Automotive Interior Products of Lakewood, Colorado.
All the factory upholstery and carpeting were replaced. Mark used a camel colored leatherette and ivory piping over the seats and door panels. A new headliner was installed, as was brown "pepper" carpet, a good contrast with the yellow and white painted surfaces. All glass, wipers, lights inside and out in great condition. Interior still smells like NEW! Sealed tight as well. The super clean dash sports a new speaker grille and bud vase, radio block-off plate, and restored steering wheel.
At Boltswagen in Denver, Rick rebuilt the "56 Type 1 engine (1192cc) 36hp to factory specs, utilizing mostly German parts. The stock single port powerplant runs a single Solex 28 PCI carburetor, 6.6:1 compression. And just like the rest of the car the engine and 4-speed transmission are detailed immaculately. The swingaxle trans is also stock and was rebuilt by the crew at Dynamic Automotive in Denver, but the 1st gear has been synchronized for better drivability. Voltage Regulator is a Bosch RS/TAA/6/1. Newer brakes shoes & wheel cylinders. Included is a new Interstate 6vt battery. It remains a 6vt system as it was in 1956. Pictures help but after seeing it in person you will know you made the right decision. No Disappointments.
