“This is an excellent running and driving top of the line Oldsmobile. It had been sitting in a Utah car port for over 35 years. It only has 33500 original miles, It was covered with tarps, that were periodically replaced as the decades passed. The moisture condensation created (patina) surface rust that I have been able to polish and remove. Please look closely at all of the photos and read the detailed description. This is a confirmed 33,000 original miles 1956 Oldsmobile. I have the original owner's phone number if you have any questions regarding the mileage and care.” |

Vehicle description
1956 Oldsmobile 98 Four Door Hardtop. This is a good running Oldsmobile. I have confirmed that the 33681 are the original miles. I have a clear/clean Utah title in my name. Please look closely at all of the photos. I have over 1100 positive feedbacks on Ebay and no negative comments. I highly value my Ebay feedback score and I want to be sure the owner knows exactly what they are buying. With this in mind, I will outline both the positive and negative aspects of my 1956 Oldsmobile 98. First, I need to explain why a 65 year old car only has 33581 miles on the odometer. I purchased the Oldsmobile from the original owner. This gentleman passed away, and the Oldsmobile was passed to his son. For some unknown reason, the son"s wife didn"t like the car, and refused to drive it. The son was a truck driver and was on the road for weeks at a time. The Oldsmobile sat in a carport in Centerville, Utah and was not started for months. Eventually, it wouldn"t start and it was left in the carport from 1970 to 2020. In 2020 the son died, and the wife wanted their son to sell it. I purchased the Oldsmobile from the wife and her son. The Oldsmobile had been sitting in the carport for all those years - only covered with tarps. When the weather destroyed a tarp, a new one would be purchased. All the tires were flat and the Oldsmobile had not been started for decades. It took several hours to get the Oldsmobile out of the carport and winched onto my son"s flatbed trailer. Three of the original whitewall tires held air. The driver"s side front tire would not hold air. The brake master cylinder was dry and the brake pedal was lose and on the floor. Once I got it home and into my garage, I took the following steps: 1. I replaced the gas tank (receipt goes with the car), blew out the gas lines, and rebuilt the carburetor. 2. Installed a new battery, checked the timing, and fired up the engine. 3. I purchased a rebuilt master cylinder and blew out the brake lines. (receipt goes with the car). At this point, the 1956 Oldsmobile came back to life. The positive aspects of my 1956 Oldsmobile as follows: It starts easily and runs good. It drives straight, shifts smoothly, and has plenty of power. The doors, hood, trunk, open and close like new. The power steering, power brakes, power windows, power seat, all work. Even the power antenna came to life alone with the radio. Please look closely at the interior. The interior is completely original. The dash is perfect, the carpets are good, and the headliner is in good condition with the chrome strips in place. The rear seats look like they have never been sat on, but the front seat, on the driver"s side has some split seams. With a new set of tires, the 1956 Oldsmobile could be driven anywhere. All of the glass is in excellent condition. It has the owner"s manual, showroom brochure with penciled in prices, and the 1956 Oldsmobile paint chip documents and radio instructions. All of the gauges and lights work. The negative aspects of the Oldsmobile: After sitting for decades, there could be unidentified problems, but I currently feel, with new tires, the car could be a daily driver or driven anywhere. The biggest problem has been the surface damage to the paint that was created by the moisture that collected between the tarps and the painted surfaces of the car. There are small paint chips where the tarp was stuck to the paint and damaged the paint. The roof is covered with surface rust, but there are no rust holes or serious damage to the metal. The floors are dry and completely rust free. The front bumper needs to be re-chromed. I will keep the Oldsmobile securely stored in my garage, until you arrange shipping. If you have additional questions, please don"t hesitate to give me a call. My number is (801) 745-5835. The reserve is low, and I hope this great old Oldsmobile finds a good home. If you have fewer than five (5) feedbacks on Ebay, please message me or give me a call before bidding. I want this to be a good straightforward auction. Good luck bidding.
