Vehicle description
Up for sale is my 1956 Mercury Monterrey Phaeton. It has:
Original: Engine Transmission Working tube radio (hear Cuban radio station picked up in Pompano Beach, Fl - https:/ youtu.be/5-MmrrTQULM)
Drum brake configuration
Manual windows and ventilation system
Manual steering Not original : Radiator - replaced with a 56 Ford Aluminum (than original brass/copper)
Tires (less than 200 miles of wear)
Newer 1403 Edelbrock 1403 Performer Carburetor (less than 6 months old)
Interior Modifications:
Lap (seat) belts added about a year ago This is a very nicely preserved classic that while imperfect, it extremely appealing. I generally only move the car for private shows and events, where the host is expecting a lineup of finer cars for their clients. The car is never left unattended and is garage stored when not in service.
The car drives remarkably for its age! I easily cruise the interstate at 65-70 mph without any hesitation, other than the expression of peoples faces when you pass them in a 62 year old classic.
Bonus items included:
Electrical Schema Original 1956 body parts catalog Original 1956 Chassis parts catalog 3 sets of keys (original + 2 original sets of blanks)
Not included:
Cuban License Plate Models Reason for sale:
