Up for sale is a 1956 Continental Mark II.This Continental was Bought brand new at kitchen-Boyd in Bakersfield California. The original owner was Philip Zobelein, Owner of the Los Angeles Brewing company. They made East Side beer. Even comes with an east side beer can. He sold the business to Pabst Blue Ribbon in 1943. Phillip retired in 1954. His daughter married the son of a Lincoln & Mercury dealer in Bakersfield California, the Kitchen in "Kitchen Boyd". Where he must of got a great deal on this new Continental Mark II. He bought many lincolns through the year but keep this one to the end. He lived in Beverly Hills till his death in 1973, and thats when the car was sold.
The engine was rebuilt about 3500 miles ago, the millage shows just under 10,000 but I am sure it was rolled back when it had its restoration, cause in no was does it seam to be a 110,000 mile car. i have the original carb but it has been replaced with an edelbrock and boy it runs beautiful. The suspension has been redone new coils in the front and new leafs in the rear. the wipers work. The front seats have been redone by the previous owner in vinyl, They look great but needs to be redone in leather. The steering box has been recently replaced. i have replaced the speaker system with a hidden audio unit so you can"t see it but you can play music off your iPod/iphone and it sounds great :). tires are American classic radials from Coker tires. All windows work except for the passenger rear quarter window but i am working on getting that fixed at the moment. seat moves forward & back. turn signals work. brakes work, The Treadle Vac was rebuilt back in oct of 2015 and new Brake shoes and wheel cylinders were put on at that time. Less than 1000 miles on them. The A/C System does not work, was told just needs a new compressor, all the fans work and all the controls work. Headlights work, int lights work, has spare tire in trunk with the original jack and its case. any questions please ask970twozero11six44 asking $60,000 or best offer open to trades.
currently on display at the Forney museum of transportation in Denver Colorado
