Vehicle description
The Chevy DelRay was named after Delray Beach, Florida and debuted in 1954 as an optional trim level on two-door models of Chevrolet"s med-range 210 series. For the Tri-Five years, the DelRay was essentially an interior package for the plain 210 two door sedan. It featured an upgraded vinyl upholstery with "waffle-like" pleating, color-keyed to the exterior, along with carpeting and other minor upgrades. This custom 1956 DelRay has undergone an extensive restoration and customization process. Some of that process has been upgraded to more modern conveniences, some structural fixes, and others are power related. On all ends attention to detail has been paid. A quick starter that fives the appearance of a trailer queen but is definitely a goer! Exterior A stunning white through yellow to orange and then red appears like it was poured on to the car from front to back. The paint presents very nicely and shows some of the efforts that went into this car. 17" Eagle alloy wheels are on all 4 corners, with P245/45ZR17 tires on front and P245/40ZR17 on the rear. Glass is clean and scratch free. Has new chrome on the front and rear bumpers, hood ornament, trunk brightwork and taillights. Passenger rocker panel has been replaced and there are new body mounts all around. Interior A front split bench, and rear bench, as well as door panels are covered in rich red crushed velour, edged with white piping, and plenty of buttons emulating the original DelRay "waffle-like" pleating but with bling. Door panels have a clean gray panel added to the velour but on top creating a nice contrast to the chromed handles. A red metal dash with original gauges and Chevy pie shaped curves imbedded within it. Additional gauges are added to the dash, as well as a custom radio, a Rain Gear intermittent wiper system, a custom adjustable steering wheel and machined aluminum column. Sitting in a sea of red carpet is a B& M Quick silver shifter. A perfect red headliner, and a custom stitched Chevy logo on the rear deck. Drivetrain a strong 350ci Chevrolet engine backed by a 700R4 automatic transmission sits in the clean engine bay. So nice it even has its own vanity mirror on the underside of the hood. Providing that mill with cooling is a new 3 core aluminum radiator/fan. Exhaling is accomplished easily with Sanderson jet Hot Coated Headers, and an aluminum exhaust with an H pipe. Underneath, a Mustang II front suspension, rack and pinion steering, a new wiring harness, and traction bars. Disc brakes in front, and drum brakes bring up the rear. A solid car that won"t disappoint you.
