Vehicle description
This beautiful 1956 Chevy taskforce pickup truck was born in the spring of 1956 in the Chevrolet plant in Oakland California. It was a late production in the 1956 model year, in fact the 5287th truck off the line that year. This truck was then shipped and sold at one of the largest and oldest dealerships in Washington State at the time, Buhler motor company A Chevy and Olds dealer in Port Townsend, Washington. The original owner was an auto mechanic all of his life lending to the great shape and survival of the truck. It remained in the same family its entire life up until I purchased it in 2013 which makes me the fourth owner. I put it through an complete restoration using as many original parts as possible. From the original 140 horsepower thrift master numbers matching engine to the three speed manual transmission. I also preformed a major mechanical teardown of the entire truck. Included was new interior and exterior paint, new fender and bumpers, new grill, hood bird, suspension repairs, new red oak bed, new large white wall tires, white oak stake sides, and engine compartment detail. This truck features a lot of accessories that were available at the time. Including hood ornament, chrome body trim, fax dual spotlights (Big on 50"s pickups at the time), Deluxe heater with defrost, chrome vent wings, exterior chrome windshield sun visor, interior sun visor, era correct fog lights, radio, front bumper guards, cigarette lighter, door handle shields, steering column mounted flash light, vent shades, tinted glass, and stop light viewer. The truck also includes the original mounted spare tire and the original leather key ring. The truck has less than 300 miles since the restoration was completed. The truck will be sold with a reproduction owners manual, and owners manual folder along with a reproduction 1956 accessory booklet, a framed 1956 reproduction sales brochure, an accessory Chevy bag, and a custom quilted truck cover. It will come with the complete history of the truck and most paperwork verifying its history. The truck runs and drives as it came off the assembly line yesterday. Be aware some of the pictures don"t do the paint job on the truck justice and take a close look at the pictures and notice the detail this beautiful truck Has, and see if you can find all the red dice. (NOTE) The reserve on the truck is well below market value so don"t be afraid to bid!
