1956 CHEVROLET BELAIR RARE 4 DOOR HARDTOP SPORT SEDAN
Hello next up on our Route66 Classic Cars ebay Auction: Your looking at a Rare Sport Sedan 1956 BelAir 4 Door Hardtop (No Posts) 265 V8 2 Barrel, Automatic Powerglide Transmission, with Power Brakes and Power Steering. The car is a 32,000 original mile car , yes that right 32,130 miles to be exact . The car was last inspected in 1986 and has sat since 1986 (Last window inspection tag) but before that, it sat for many more years in a garage waiting for a minor repair on the motor that never happened, thus it sat and sat and sat for many years and the very low miles. The car is very straight, but due to the sitting it had moisture deteriorate the under carriage and caused rust outs in odd locations as it was on a gravel floor and cement floor off and on during the many years of sitting. The motor was getting a new fuel pump and then the repair was never done and the motor was left as-is and is now in need of a rebuild and needs new brakes and brake lines, and all new seals, a all new overall rebuild is needed. Motor is non-running and the car is being sold as-is, but it is all there complete, carb tags and glass fuel bowl and all. Automatic power glide transmission all original, All matching numbers motor with power steering and power brakes with tags. Would be a great Original Restoration The exterior needs a repainted unless you want the patina look as-is. The respray is off a shade from original color Harbor blue now a turquoise shade, and the white was more beige color. it has all operating window and locks and doors and trunk. keys fit glove box, ignition, and doors, trunk locks just fine. Window fuzzies in window channels are like new, the kick boards and nice rubber power brake pedals are like new showing not many miles. A very odd outcome for this sport sedan as it has such low miles but needs alot of restoration to bring back total glory. The chrome hood bird and main hood bar and fender birds are all new chrome. Stainless trim is very nice, no big dings anywhere. Glass is all great and original including front windshield, cept for the passenger front smaller window that is easily available has a crack. Interior is all original and in very nice original condition for the age. The seats are strong and have good support, seat works front to back slides. Tires and wheels are newer and have only 500 miles on them. B.F. Goodrich T/A Radials P225x70x15" with metal 15" GM deep rally wheels. Car has park gear and rolls and steers very easy, no brakes, no E-brake, will engage park gear to hold the car. The rust is mainly is in smaller pockets, some in floors, some in trunk side areas, trunk main floor ok, some in lower rear drivers door, but the main thing needed is the two main braces for the 4dr ht under carriage door supports. this will sure up the doors back to factory strength while in the open position. Doors Ok as is now, but will need this repair first in a restoration for everyday use as the brace was rusted. Over all a very nice "56 Chevy Sport Sedan Hardtop to make a driver or restore. Very low priced as i just will not have the time for this 56 Chevrolet and need to move her out.
