Vehicle description
Rare 1955 Studebaker Commander. I purchased this car in 2005 with the intention of making it into a rat rod. As I worked on it, I gradually found myself building a custom hot rod instead. This vehicle is NOT a completed project and there is work to be done. As is this car is now totally driveable, but has some things still to be worked out. As you can see from the mileage, I have driven this car over 3,000 miles since replacing the engine. The following is a short list of the modifications that I have made to the vehicle: 390 FE Engine 400 hp Mustang II front suspension, rack and pinion steering, and disc brakes Edelbrock "Performer" intake manifold Ford 4-speed T-10 transmission with 3" drive shaft 1963 Hawk twin traction rear end 1957 Golden Hawk dash Mustang suspended brake and clutch pedals Lokar gas pedal Flaming River stainless steel tilt steering column with custom steering wheel Total rewire with custom Painless kit Bucket seats from 1963 Golden Hawk Sanderson headers with new stainless steel exhaust system and Flowmaster mufflers American Racing wheels
There are many more improvements that I am not listing; however, I have full documentation for all the parts.
