Vehicle description

1955 Pontiac Chieftain. Condition is "Used" and carries no warrantee expressed or implied as you can expect for a 66 year old vehicle. This car has almost 38, 000 on the odometer. It could be original but there is no way to tell. From all appearances, the car looks to be all original with exceptions of a very old paint job (that has a few small dents and needs to be re done) and typical maintenance like brakes, hoses, belts, tires, exhaust. The car starts, runs, drives and stops but you"ll want to check everything out as it was not a daily driver. Headlights, tail lights, dash lights all work. Blinkers need a flasher. Windshield wipers, horn and the original radio also work. Seat covers were installed by a previous owner over the original interior. The springs and cushions appear just fine so maybe the material is worn. I haven"t looked under them. The cloth headliner has a few small rips.
This car has the original 287 V8 2 bbl carb (with original tag), original oil bath air cleaner and exhaust manifold "locks". Doesn"t appear the engine has ever been apart. Both the engine and transmission run good but have typical leaky gaskets and seals like any old car that has been sitting for a long time. After a drive, some drips will occur on the driveway. I have some tune up parts but they have not been installed. The engine oil and antifreeze are very clean as are the heads (if you look in the oil filler holes in the valve covers).
The undercarriage was originally thoroughly undercoated and shows no signs of rot and only minor surface rust. I"m told the vehicle spent the last 38 years in Arizona and it shows.
Looking at the original condition of the car, both inside and out, the car was definitely taken care of through the years. I have some early paperwork on the car but that is about it. This car has excellent bones. It would be a prime candidate for restoration, low rider or even rat rod. Note:
I will not sell outside of the USA.
Bidders with no or low feedback will need to contact me or your bid will be rejected.
The car / title will not leave my possession until payment has cleared
