What an awesome truck! Ford’s fat-fendered F100 only ran from 1953-1956 but is one of the most desirable classic pickups of all time. This highly modified 1955 model shows just what can be done with this iconic design. It not only looks incredible with its flamed paint and aggressive stance, but it also backs everything up with a fuel-injected 460ci V8. Throw in a custom leather interior with air conditioning and this one will make a truck lover out of most anyone.
This stunner is the product of a complete frame-off build that took twelve years and untold money to complete. The paint is a silver base covered with DuPont blue and purple flames. To give a more streamlined look the roof was chopped 4” in front and 3.5” in back, while the suicide doors have shaved handles and a remote opener. The hood is hinged at the front and uses a track system to guide it forward and back. There is a chromed grille, smoothed tailgate, and new bumpers. The hidden rear air suspension allows just the right rake. Finally the box was completely redone and tubbed to accommodate the huge 31 x 18 tires Mickey Thompson tires on 20” Boyd Coddington Crown Jewel wheels (18” in front). The fuel tank was also moved to the bed and provides dual fillers.
Tilting the hood forward reveals the magnificent 460ci Ford V8 topped by an Imagine Injection EFI system with a classic Weber look. Everything is controlled through a Haltech ECU and MSD ignition. The engine uses Keith Black 9.5:1 pistons, ported and polished heads, and Crane aluminum roller rockers. Up front is a Billet Specialties Tru Trac serpentine system along with a shrouded Wizard Cooling aluminum radiator with four fans. This is a clean, show quality engine compartment that you will be proud to display.
Backing the engine is a C6 automatic transmission with a TCI 2500 rpm torque converter, followed by a narrowed Ford 9” rear with a Richmond 3.50 gearset. The front of the frame is fully boxed while the rear uses a custom welded subframe. There is also a Mustang II style front setup from Fat Man Fabrications with power rack and pinion steering. The brakes are Wilwood discs all around.
The custom interior features matching two-tone leather seats. The door panels and kick panels continue the flame theme, while the embossed headliner displays Ford’s V8 emblem. The dash is very clean and houses a set of Auto Meter gauges. There is a custom center console with controls for the power windows, headlights, and Air Ride Technologies system. There is also an Ididit tilt steering column with a Budnik 3-spoke steering wheel. Tunes are provided by a Kenwood stereo system with remote. And of course there is the Vintage Air A/C system to keep you comfortable. Note this truck is complete with working lights, turn signals, wipers, and horn.
This 1955 F100 represents a high-dollar build that will draw a crowd wherever it goes. It has loads of great cosmetic and mechanical features throughout (more than can be listed here). And it can be yours for just a fraction the build cost. Vehicle Description All vehicle trades considered, including classics and performance. We can assist with financing and transport as needed.
