Vehicle description
These cars are getting hard to find. We found this car locally in a barn. I have included a photo of it coming out of the barn. The same man owned it for decades until we bought it. It was stored in a dry barn since 1978.
Cool old school hotrod including: turnpike cruiser mirrors (two), Thunderbird valve covers, 1960 Ford Steering column for better control, three speed hurst shifter on the floor. Rolled seat covers. A four barrel intake and carb. (likely a 272 or 292 engine) The best part: a 1954 Chevy Belair grill with extra teeth . When this car follows you, it looks like an angry animal behind you!
We freshened the car with: New shocks all around. Newer tires and wheels with early "60s Falcon hub caps. New (old style) Moon Eyes tach. New seat belts for the front seat. New rubber floor mat for the front that goes across the entire front floor. Fresh oil, plugs, wires and air cleaner. Gas tank was in great shape. Fuel system lines were cleaned or replaced. New oil pump. Brand new radiator specially made to look like the original but this one is aluminum. New full dual exhaust with old school Smithy mufflers.
This car runs and drives. It is not a museum piece. We got all the lights and signals working. You could drive it daily. It will need wipers fixed and speedo cable. We have the parts. The body is very solid. trunk and spare tire well solid. See the underside photos. Some floor pan work many years ago and the cross member was fixed. The prior owner was a machinist and a welder and did good work.
There is rust in the pass side rocker panel. It could be fixed but we have a NOS Ford, yes NOS Ford new in the box that goes with the car. The lower quarter on the driver side needs some rust repair. Not huge holes, just needs some repair.
Whoever buys this car can do as they wish with it, however the history that shows on this car; the patina and the hot rod element are what makes the car so cool in our opinion.
I have videos of the motor running and the car doing 55 mph down a four lane highway. If you would like those you will have to give me via questions your email or phone number if you get photos on your phone.
Thank you for looking. We have 100% positive feedback. We will answer your questions. We are located in Northeast, TN right near the VA border and about 7 miles from the Bristol Motor Speedway.
