Vehicle description
Here is a real nice ultra-rare, all original, one-family owned 1955 Dodge Custom Royal Lancer 2-door Hardtop Coupe, with the Super Red Ram 270 HEMI V8 and 2-speed PowerFlite automatic in-dash shifter.
Last registered in 1990, it’s an unmolested beauty with original license plates, original dealership frames, and 6V electrical system. It was stored in a Willamette Valley, Oregon barn until last year where it was started and driven regularly until a couple of years ago.
Factory correct tri-tone Parisian Blue, Sapphire White, and Black paint appear to have been freshened up in some places. Seats and door panels all appear to be original. We were able to start it by rebuilding the distributor, but it needs a new ignition coil, water pump, radiator repair, fuel pump, fuel tank cleaning, tranny service, carburetor service, brake service, and possibly more to run and drive.
The body is super straight except for minor blemishes here and there with no rust. Floors have scaly, flaky surface rust, some patching work was done from possibly a heater leak, which is a typical issue. Driver side front window is cracked. Chrome is mostly in good condition with occasional pitting as expected with a 66-year-old car.
I was told that the odometer is actual mileage, my guess would be so too original looking at the pedal wear and overall condition of the car. Came with a few service receipts and one of them is from 1984 showing 62,281 which means only 150 miles driven from 1984-1990. Also came with an original dealer brochure and a magazine that features this car in detail.
With not much mechanical work it has the bones to become a dependable cruiser again or is a prime candidate for a show condition restoration. Clear title in hand from the first owners.
Listed locally too. Buyer needs to tow or pays freight. Low ballers and tire kickers please don"t waste your time or mine. If you have any questions, fire away. Message me for more specific photos please and thanks for looking!
