Vehicle description
Hello Ebay,
Up for sale is a 1955 Desoto Fireflite Coronado.
1955 DeSoto Coronado. Considered one of the rarest American cars of the 1950s. the Coronado was a "Spring Special" trim option on the Fireflite 4-door sedans. While the Coronado is often viewed as a "trim line. this car actually got it"s own body number separate from that of the Fireflite. All Coronados were painted in a unique three color scheme of turquoise. white and black and are significant for being among the very first tri -color cars ever made. While exact build numbers do not exist. it is generally thought no more than five hundred "55 Coronados were built. and of those. only a handful survive."
Factory 291 Hemi; 4 barrel Carter carb; dual points; 6v system; backed by a Powerflite automatic transmission.
Vehicle runs, drives, stops "lot drives"- is mechanically sound. Old paint has perfect petina, biasply white wall tires- the perfect look and feel for a mid fifties classic. Head turning attention getter.
Valuable replacements : Generator was recently professionally rebuilt and charges the batteyr fine. Wiring from the firewall out has been assessed and the starter was remanufactured. Wheel cylinders have been honed and rebuilt. Although it has been sitting the brakes will need attention. Master cylinder /power booster professionally rebuilt.
Interior: Floor boards have been replaced professionally, insulation and new carpet. All other interior is original. All gauges functional (no lights)
Body: Vehicle is striaght in it"s original condition. See pictures for exterior condition.
