The all-new for 1955 Chevrolet sedan was a major departure from previous model for the automaker. With smooth straight panels on the sides and hood the new design of their flagship model was considered a huge turning point for the leading American passenger car manufacturer. Along with the flat straight panels, the sedan had modern cues like wrap-around glass on the windshield, and triangular taillights that jutted outward. This new look, combined with new power and engineering, made the "55 an instant hit with the buying public and a critical success. This white and yellow two-tone 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air has had a restoration started and needs very little to get running and on the road. The body panels are laser straight and the paint quality and finish are superb. All the stainless steel and chrome trim is in superb condition. Powering the Bel Air is a 292 cubic-inch inline six-cylinder engine mated to a three-speed manual transmission with column-mount shifter. The engine looks great in fresh blue paint with every nut and bolt and accessory restored to like new condition. A Holley carburetor is connected to the factory intake manifold and the original Chevrolet script valve cover looks excellent. A new alternator, distributor and ignition wires complete the powerplant. In a similar fashion the front suspension looks terrific with refinished steel components, new bushings, tie rod ends, ball joints and springs. A nice upgrade is the front disc brakes with all new line sets and power brake booster in the correct nickel finish. On the body color matched painted firewall is a new windshield wiper motor and heater blower motor as well. The Bel Air rolls on a set of radial tires mounted on freshly painted black steel wheels. Inside the bench seat interior, you will find all original factory components just like when the car was made sixty-six years ago. The dashboard, seating surfaces, and interior trim all look great as does the brilliant headliner. Do not miss the chance to own a fine example of a piece of American motoring history needing little to be rolling down the road in style!
