Vehicle description
Up for bid is this 1955 Cadillac Coupe de Ville, restoration was about finished in July 2015, it was driven about 280 miles then parked due to owner health issues, it has been sitting indoors since 2017. During restoration various systems were upgraded to make this Cadillac a great and trouble free highway cruiser.
The following work was done: Transmission upgraded to a GM remanufactured (Corvette spec.700R4). Installed a heavy duty 3 row aluminum radiator, heavy duty 100 Amp 1 wire alternator, electric cooling fans, upgraded starter, electric windshield wiper/washer. Upgraded the complete electrical system, Installed pointless high voltage ignition system, relocated battery to the trunk, added extra insulation, added sound deadening material for a new sound system. Complete engine rebuild.
Condition: Complete rebuilt of stock 331 engine, New windshield and side glass, new Coker Classic P235-75R-15 radial tires, interior redone, Paint nice but not perfect (some scratches on right front fender) new rubber for door/trunk/window gaskets, re-chromed bumpers front & rear, all chrome very nice except right front fender spear has rust, right side rocker SS trim missing, all chrome trim and emblems complete and correct, factory Saber wheels with 1 un-mounted spare saber wheel included.
Car runs and drives great but when pushed hard (above 70MPH) starts to stumble like a fuel issue, carburetor may need to be cleaned/rebuilt, transmission shifts and locks into overdrive like it should.
