Vehicle description
1954 Packard Standard Convertible. One of 863 built that year. This car has had a full mechanical rebuild and runs well. It will need paint, top and carpet to make it excellent or drive it as is and enjoy it.
The 359 ci straight 8 was professionally rebuilt including all accessories, starter, generator, carb, fuel pump, water pump, aluminum radiator etc. It has the correct air cleaner that extends over the engine, it is included with the car. I just find the little lid easier to handle. You will notice the correct support bracket already installed. It starts and runs well. It is coupled to a Chrysler 727 automatic transmission which had been rebuilt with new converter. It features a remote cooler added to avoid using the original cooler. The mechanical rebuild continued with brakes and front suspension and power steering system rebuilds. New tires and shocks were installed. The power top and power window systems were completely rebuilt with new pump, hoses, actuator cylinders and wiring. They all work well. Wiper motor was rebuilt as well. Drive shaft has been replaced with a new unit with new universals that has been properly balanced.
Cosmetics are good under the hood, which is completely detailed and the interior features new seats and original door panels and dash. It is quite appealing. Power accessories work well, including seat and antenna but the radio does not play. The firewall heater has a new core, the under seat heater was not refurbished.
The car needs a few things. It will require paint and slight rust repair in one rocker and the spare tire well. Otherwise the car is solid. The top and carpet need to be replaced. You can redo the chrome but it is shiny as is.
This is a running and driving car what you can use as is and restore later, or paint it this winter and have a very sharp driver/show car in the spring.
It has a clean title that has to be transferred prior to removal. You will need to pay in full prior to title transfer. I can not ship, you will need to pick it up or arrange a shipper, I can assist in loading if you give me the contact information of the shipper.
