1953 Willys Jeep CJ-3B
F-head 134in engine
Includes unique, 19” body extension (short trunk). Barn find in Red River, New Mexico.
Upgrades since purchasing. Emphasis on functionality. .but still looks good.
Replaced all fluids including front and rear axles, transmission, transfer case, engine, and radiator. Greased all fittings. Suspension – 30x9.50R15LT off road tires on Steel, 15” black rims. New shocks, 3” lift kit, new bushings, and left rear leaf spring. Replaced all left-hand thread wheel studs with right hand thread. Fuel system – New fuel tank, electric fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel line, and Solex carburetor. Electrical system – New plugs, points, condenser. Converted from 6V to 12V, including new alternator, coil, battery, and starter. Added keyed fuse box and upgraded to 12V LED lighting. Replaced ammeter with voltmeter. Replaced speedometer and cable. Cooling system – Radiator vatted and pressure tested. Replaced hoses, belt, and thermostat. Exhaust – Header and larger diameter exhaust and muffler for slightly more horsepower. Body – Replaced right rear fender (cumulative damage from original spare tire mount). Installed custom roll bar with spare tire mount. Sprayed Bedliner in tub and wheel wells. Reupholstered all seats. Installed Bestop soft top with custom body extension cover to match. Safety – Added four seat belts, electric windshield wiper, and front disc brakes. Replaced rear brake drums, brakes, and master brake cylinder. Added removable tow bar, hi-lift jack, dual jerry cans, and Smittybilt 8k winch.
