Vehicle description
About this vehicle This 1953 Willys CJ-3A is an original with updates to the exterior, interior and drivetrain. The owner has had it for 2 years. The vehicle runs great and is mainly used for weekend drives. Seller"s Notes I have the rear flap for the top, the original air cleaner, some solex carbs and other miscellaneous parts that go with the Jeep. Also have some floor mats that are just trimmed rubber that fit the floorboards and cover up the random holes that this thing has acquired over the years Vehicle Details I bought this Jeep sight unseen a couple years ago with the understanding that it was a drivable Jeep. Long story short it wasn’t and I’ve done a lot of work to get it to where it is now. I replaced 4 valves, installed a solid copper head gasket and replaced all the other gaskets that come in the kit, installed GM alternator, replaced crank pulley and water pump to get the correct 5/8 belt on it. I replaced the transmission crossmember, brake lines, fuel lines, vaacuum wiper motor, installed a Weber carb which is actually for a rover but works great on these motors. Installed a dry air cleaner with intake through the firewall. Made custom bumpers for the Jeep which are tied in SUPER strong with 12 3/8 bolts each, they have been snatched on in off-road situations and put to the test! Frame is mint and was painted with POR15, has brand new springs, shocks, u bolts and plates, fuel tank, electronic ignition distributor, wheels and tires are like new, has wheel spacers installed, steering links on the original style Ross bellcrank have all been replaced, all axle seals and brakes have been gone through as well. Had lots of other things just replaced when I got it as well including the top, seats, cushions and gauges. Probably forgetting some other stuff as well. THIS IS NOT A SHOW PIECE and I’m not trying to represent it as such. I have wheeled this Jeep, it has dents, holes, some rust and other cosmetic issues. I even left it dirty and dusty to take pictures. It’s a wheeler and a very drivable presentable truck that gets tons of looks/thumbs ups, and gets people super excited when it shows up on the trails and does everything that built rigs can do AND THEN SOME! This is something that only certain people are going to appreciate and I welcome questions, comments and requests for more pictures but would really like the potential buyer to come check it out in person if possible so they know EXACTLY what it is. Only want to sell this to fund some other projects otherwise I would keep it because it’s such a fun truck! Potentially trade for lower mileage e350 van.
