Vehicle description

This is a Custom 53 Studebaker that was originally built by a well crafted gentlemen out of Richmond Virginia, very talented builder and the car shows it. This was featured in April 2012 in Rod & Custom under readers rods. I was recently contacted by the gentlemen"s daughter about her Dad was the original builder of the car five years ago with his contact #. I will give his name and number to the buyer as I spoke with him yesterday and he told me that should someone ever have an issue with the car he knows the car and everything in it.
Here is what I know, started out with parts from a Studebaker Champion and built a custom chassis out of 2x3" tubing. This is built on a race car chassis, the chassis and suspension parts are powered coated . This is registered as a Studebaker Convertible but built more like a Roadster Pickup. The back is made to look like a pickup and he used a Tailgate from a Studebaker as it has the stamping. The doors do not open like a Model T . This is unique vehicle and you won"t find another one. I am 6"2" and a little tall for driving it. 1958 SBC 283 bored out to a 301 rebuilt at time of build. Also TH350 transmission was rebuilt. The last pic is of two extra sets of gears that come with it. This car also has a Detroit Locker in the rear. It has a few blemishes in the paint from driving it but still looks great. The paint is House of Colors Hot Rod Black Pearl.
