Vehicle description
A survivor found in a garage in Nebraska. This car was a one family car most of it"s life. Bought used in 1954 and stayed in the family till 2015, when it was sold. I bought it from a shop in Texas that was given the car to pay for the maintenance costs. It has new wheel cylinders, a re-cord radiator and water pump, the battery was also replaced as well as a tune up performed. She runs smooth, clean and quiet. I have documentation tracking the car back to 1954, including the receipt for that purchase. An original 1953 sales brochure is also included.
This car is a time capsule, with a few bumps and scrapes along the way. I tried to post pictures showing the worst damage. I do have many more pictures if you want to see something specific please ask. Rust is minimal, above the rear wheel wells in two spots and the rear rocker panels. There is a kiss on the front passenger fender, from what I"m guessing to be a garage door/post, mostly paint and trim damage. There is also some scrapes on the front filler panel behind the front bumper, most likely from being towed with tow straps. The aftermarket red plastic wind break on the drivers door is also broken. Any other damage is limited to normal road damage over the years of use. The seats have either been reupholstered or have vintage seat covers on them. I have not had the time to investigate which. Both covers are in very nice condition with one minor tear repair on the front seat. I listed the mileage at 65256 this is what the odometer stated last fall when I was last there. I am guessing that it has rolled over at least once but cannot confirm or deny that.
The car is in storage in Texas outside of Dallas. I am located in Alaska. I have a family member that will assist in the final sale of this vehicle. As such, all shipping requirements are the sole responsibility of the buyer. As this car is 66 years old there is no warranty given or expressed, she is in as is, where is condition. Payment is due at time of pick up in the form of either cash or cashier"s check. Please contact me prior to bidding if you are unable to pick the car up within 14 days of the end of the auction.
My custodian drives her around the storage lot about once a month to keep her running. Beyond that, let the pictures do the talking. This is a very nice car and will give someone many more years of enjoyment. Keep her as is and enjoy a beautiful original or put a little money into her and enjoy a very easy restoration. If I had all the space in the world to store her closer to home I"d keep her, but wasting away in a storage space is no life for any classic. I have too many and some have to find new homes. Thank you for looking. If you have any questions please don"t hesitate to ask.
