1953 Mercury Monterey 4 Door Sedan. I got the car recently and was gonna fix it up but have too many projects.
Has Ford 302 that someone put in back in the 80s but is seized. Has 5 speed transmission not sure of the condition. No driveline. Someone started on this but never finished it. Front Bench was taken out for Bucket seats. Has original Rear Bench. Someone put a Nova Steering Column in it. Its functional and turns the car. I greased all the joints. I didn"t see any play. It took grease easy. So as far as the part goes it looks good. All the break drums looks good. Just had to get rid of a few spider webs since it sat for I dont know how long. Still trying to get some breaks on it right now. It had its Original Ignition and Trunk keys. Originally an Idaho car with Idaho title. Has original door panels. Has original Jack in the trunk. Some trim is missing on bottom but most of it is there. Does have some minor dings here and there. Someone took the hood hinges off and it dented the back corners of the hood. On the front floor board it looks like someone tried to fix the floor pans not too well, but its Not rusted all the way through. Can be fixed. But the rear floorboard is in excellent condition. Front and Rear Winshields are in great shape. No cracks or chips. Front and Rear Bumpers are showing surface rust. No Rust in trunk. Has original gas tank. Has original clock but the other instrument cluster is gone. Not sure why. So I dont know what the mileage even is. The Front Passenger and Driver windows are Cracked. Those are flat glass and can be replaced easy. It didn"t have rims or tires on it so I put 19" mustang wheels on it. Does have 2 little rust spots on either side of the roof in front. And on the driver side quarter panel. But overall the body is in really good condition. It"ll be a great start for someone. You dont see these old Montereys aound much anymore.
