Introduced in 1948 the Xk120 was a unique overnight sensation . The newly styled and powered Jaguar sports car brought race car performance to the road with some comfort, beauty and sophistication never before seen in such a vehicle. In its Original form the engine made 160bhp, sufficient to achieve a top speed of 120 MPH to match its name. It was the fastest production car in the world and it was also smooth and docile in contrast to its stupendous performance. The Xk120 could be raced successfully as well as handle NY traffic. The rare Drop Head Coupe had a two year production run making it quite rare. This car has been completely restored - ground up - and had the 4 speed gearbox replaced with an updated 5 speed manual gearbox for fast smooth shifting. The original gear box is included in the sale. The car is just fabulous and can either be driven or shown.
