Vehicle description
1951 Mercury Sedan mild kustom. Was built and owned by an older gentleman that passed some years back and was bought and owned by the neighbor for some years.
There is some type of chatter in the driveline when coming to a stop, I have replaced a ton of parts trying to narrow it down. .it runs, drives and shifts perfectly fine but I can"t figure it out. Maybe an easy fix. Maybe be exhaust through the frame I have no idea.
302/AOD, power steering/power brakes, remote mounted oil filter and cooler. Shaved doors with remote poppers, shaved trunk, frenched headlights, functioning continental kit, skirts, lake pipes, dummy spot lights, interior done some years back but very nice. Paint is nice with very heavy blue pearl but has some flaws and some minor issues, this car was an East coast driver for many years. Brand new edelbrock 1406 carb, brand new finned valve covers, brand new Sony Bluetooth headunit. New front coil springs & rear leaf packs, Bilstein shocks all around. Brand new Butch"s Cool stuff 4" lowering rear blocks, brand new Butch"s Cool stuff 2.5" front lowering blocks (not yet installed) brand new Lokar AOD 23" Swann shifter, brand new Lokar kickdown cable, brand new Lokar throttle cable, brand new Lokar gas pedal. Brand new trans pan gasket. Filter and fluid when I installed the shifter. Electric fuel pump, aftermarket gauges and working fuel gauge. Electronic ignition/distributor. Brand new teardrop knobs throughout the car. Brand new Optima red top battery in trunk. Brand new Moog u-joints on both driveshaft ends. Trunk is also on popper, ahoogah horn, standard horn, GM tilt column, etc etc. All glass in in excellent shape. Underside of the car is in excellent shape as well. Nice floors, frame, body mounts etc.
Clean IL title in my name.
Body has a few bubbles starting in one rocker and at one fender bottom, it"s not a show car but I can"t go anywhere without getting complimented or chased down for photos of it. Does need some small love here and there such as grill ends and whatnot but it"s 98% complete.
