Vehicle description
I am selling my 1951 Jaguar XK120 Replica. I ran it earlier with the wrong price - it was too low. For that I apologize but I cannot sell it at the former price. I got numerous offers so there is a lot of interest out there for this car. I genuinely apreciate all those offers and hope to receive them again. I mean no disrespect, but the car is worth the asking price and then some.
There is one on right now for $47,900 and mine only differs in the engine and transmission. So I have priced mine accordingly as I think his is too high. His is also a beautiful car and well done.
This Jaguar is an exact replica of a Milestone Car, named XK120 as it was the first widely available car to exceed 120 miles per hour back in 1947 or 48. It was, and is, one of the most beautiful cars ever built, and I can"t drive it anywhere without attracting attention. It takes about 20 minutes to gas it up while answering questions from all the other drivers. Without a very careful inspection, one cannot tell it fom the original, the body is that well done. And, it has mostly original Jaguar trim, sheet metal and ornamentation. Those are real wire wheels.
It is a fiberglass body on a custom frame, powered by a late model Buick V6 engine - which actually gives it more power than the original - so it is very swift. The car has bucket seats, custom instrumentation and a very good radio. It has both the tonneau cover seen in the photos and a roadster/convertible top which I have never tried to put on as I only drive it in fair weather. It also has a full set of side screens, in the trunk, just like the original car, and a very good modern heater if you choose to go out in the elements.
It is very good running car with its Mustang automatic transmission which shifts just as you would expect it should. You could drive the car anywhere as it tracks nicely showing a very well sorted out frame and suspension. It is surprisingly comfortable, probably more so than the original car.
Good car, good components and a beautiful body. You will not be disappointed. And the exhaust note is pure Jaguar, harkening back to an earlier time.
There is no warranty, of course, and you are buying this car as-is, where-is. But if it has any problems at all, I would tell you because I don"t like those phone calls later. It"s a very nice car and one which give real rewards every time you drive it.
The title is clear and Texas titled it as a Jaguar.
I do not accept PayPal for any deposit or reason, but will take a personal check for the down payment. The balance is due by either cash, cashier"s check or wire transfer. There is no hurry to pick up the car as it can stay in covered parking until you can arrange shipping. I just like looking at it. Thanks for bidding.
