Vehicle description
This 1951 Chevrolet began life as a ¾-ton, five-window truck and has since undergone a custom build . the vehicle features a 4.0-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed automatic transmission—components sourced from a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Additional modifications include installation of an 8.25″ rear end, a 13.5″ suspension lift, 35″ tires, a GMC grille and badge, a wood-planked flatbed, a 12-volt electrical conversion, LED headlamps, and aftermarket gauges, as well as the relocation of the battery and the fuel tank. Said to have been driven approximately 1,500 miles since completion of the build, this two-wheel-drive custom Chevy comes with a clean Washington title in the current owner’s name. The grille, fenders, and cab are finished in a combination of faded red paint with exposed primer and visible corrosion. Areas of rust-through are present at the lower rear cab corners. The rear quarter glass and door glass were replaced during the build, and replacement door-window felts were installed. A flatbed was constructed with treated wood and features removable side rails, a dropdown rear bumper, and a hinged door for access to the relocated fuel tank.As part of the build process, the suspension was lifted 13.5″ with a four-coil-and-link setup and a welded support structure. Truss bars were installed at the front and middle, and a rear skid plate protects the fuel tank. 15″ wheels are mounted with 35×13.5″ Toyo Open Country M/T tires, including the bed-mounted spare. The interior features a bench seat upholstered in blue vinyl with gray fabric , the dash and cab finished in cream, and replacement gray carpeting. Tears are present on the upholstery.A three-spoke Jeep steering wheel fronts a set of replacement gauges sourced from Classic Instruments, which have yet to be hooked up. A six-digit mechanical odometer shows zero miles. True chassis mileage is unknown, and the seller estimates that the truck has been driven approximately 1,500 miles since completion of the build. The fuel-injected 4.0-liter inline-six was sourced from a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee with ~90k miles . the engine was serviced with replacement hoses and lines as well as fluid changes following its installation. Additional work included a 12-volt electrical conversion and relocation of the battery to the engine bay. Power is routed to the rear wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission and a Chrysler 8.25″ rear end with 4.88:1 gears, a Yukon Gear & Axle open spider gear kit, and 27-spline axles. .The vehicle’s serial number is that of a 1951 Chevrolet Model JR / Series 3600 ¾-ton truck, and it is titled as a 1951 Chevrolet pickup.
