Vehicle description
Wonderful 1950 Willy Truck. Testimonial of prior owner states that this truck was purchased by the Department Of Natural Resources for the State Of North Dakota (to run the dirt fire trails in the summer). The truck has been properly serviced, It has relatively new Monroe Shocks, new fuel pump and as you see has been properly lubed. The over head valve system gives it plenty of power-I have had several Jeepsters and two prior pickups in both 4 and 6 flatheads and this little 4 OHV has more power than even the 6 flathead. The Overdrive works perfectly with a kickdown switch under the gas pedal. With the OD system, its very comfortable to reach speeds of 60- 65 and not strain the engine as would be the case in a non OD vehicle. Also the truck has the coveted WILLYS rear bed gate with the famous "W". The old lawyer who started the law firm where I work was a Willys dealer in the early 50s so I have had many of their vehicles and would say this is one of the best I"ve owned. It cranks right up, does not smoke or use oil and is a pleasure to drive. Will be happy to answer any questions. (I included two shots of the guages which are clear and look as new in that one had a glare from the camera). I have no way of knowing the actual mileage but from the condition of the truck it appears to be actual. Wendell- 72 year old lawyer and car/truck enthusiast 864-580-1597 (I have added three photo in that I omitted the sales brochures, service binder and electrical diagrams and service manuel that I had forgotten I had) Also, A Doctor in Minnesota bought this truck from the N D Dept Of Nat Resources and there was one other interim owner before me. These old trucks are increasing in value and are excellent investments not to mention how fun they are- women love them and at the traffic light and when I go to church or grocery store people are always shooting photos or asking is it OK to do so. No disappointments with this one.
