 (208) 250-4454 (208) 250-4454 Video 1950 Studebaker Starlight Coupe BIG BLOCK CHEVY DUEL QUAD GASSER! Exterior Color: Blue Interior Color: Black Body Type: Coupe Transmission: Super T10 Fuel Type: Gasoline Engine: V8 7.4L Mileage: 1,000,000 A GASSER IS BORN! 1950 Studebaker Champion Starlight Bullet Nose GASSER! ! ! Lets start by saying this car has one of a kind Cool factor. The 1950 Studebaker Champion Starlight Coupe attracted attention because of its ultramodern styling. Its center nose resembled an airplane. The 1950 Studebaker featured even more radical revisions and styling changes. Robert E. Bourke, an automotive stylist who worked with the renowned industrial designer Raymond Loewy, was largely responsible for the 1950 Studebaker"s styling, now considered a classic of its era. This Stude sat for 40 years in an underground spud cellar and was rescued by a Family of car lovers that had a vision for this old girl. Having been protected from the elements all those years the body and chrome were in great condition for a car over 65 years old. The body was rot free and filler free! The car was treated to a Base coat Clear coat finish! Blue with flames! The paint is nice but does have some flaws and scratches but nothing to stop everyone"s mouth from dropping! The chrome is in very nice condition for its age! Try to find a hood ornament that nice. The widows are all good except for a cracked driver side window. Now lets talk about the fun stuff. The GAS in this GASSER is a 1969 HP Oval Port 454 CID originally rated at 390 horse power. I said originally, add in a steal crank, 11:1 forged pistons, solid lifter cam with 600 lift, roller rockers and top that off with a tunnel ram and two 600 CFM AFB 4 barrel carburetors! Feed those carbs with a 1/2 inch fuel line via an electric fuel pump from the 16 gallon fuel cell. Add spark via an MSD ignition system and HOLD ON! The Chevy BIG BLOCK is mated to a Super T10 via a scatter shield! The Super T10 is shifted through a brand new Hurst Super shifter. The motor is mounted with a rear torque plate and front solid motor mounts. The foundation of this Gasser is a 1956 Chevrolet truck frame. With this much motor the frame had to be stout. It retains its solid front axle as well as the manual steering and brakes. The frame was fitted with a narrowed Ford 9 Inch Posi traction rear end 3:30 gears and dutchman axles. The rear suspension is a fully adjustable 4 link with coil over shocks. All lights are working and has new wiring through out. The interior retains most of its original cool chrome accents. All new gauges have been added as well as a tach. All work except for the speedometer. The interior is a no frills put your on your belt and Hang ON! ! The Bullet Nose coupe rides on 255/70/15,s on the rear with plenty of room for 10 inch wrinkle wall slicks. The front wheels sport salt flat hup caps rolling on 205/70/15,s The builder of this car assures me with slicks on the back on a sticky track this stude should lift its bullet nose off the ground! This is a one of a kind build drive it to the car show take it to the track you will never be with out someone to talk to! If you have been waiting for that one of a kind BAD ASS GASSER to spend your hard earned money on this is the car! Can you feel your hart racing? Idaho Classics has been selling cool and unique cars for over 15 years! Please look at all of the photo"s they will answer most if not all of your questions.
