Vehicle description
About this vehicle This 1950 Mercury Monterey is a restored vehicle. The owner has had it for 1 year. The vehicle runs great and is mainly used for car shows. Seller"s Notes Here’s a walk around video can be seen here. https:/ youtu.be/xJZtL5DU5jo Vehicle Details Restored 1950 Mercury Monterey, Not sure how old the restore is but it does show extremely well. Fresh yellow paint with new vinyl top, new black interior, including carpet, original flathead that has been converted to 12v, this motor starts right up and runs strong and cool, all new wiring, dual exhausts with pencil tips, transmission is a manual three on the tree, shifts smooth with no binding, new brake pads and hardware, all lights and blinkers work including the dome light, all gauges work but don’t read accurately, extra accurate gauges ( temp, oil pressure, voltage ) below the dash, heater and blower work, horn and wipers work as well. The car has been lowered in the front using Aerostar springs and the rear has 4” blocks, no rust issues with the car. The floors, rockers, trunk, and quarters are all solid and last but not least custom pinstriping. There are a couple things that may or may not need attention like all old cars. The passenger front fender has some orange peel type texture to it. I was told by the previous owner that it could be buffed out according to what his paint guy said but I asked around and was told it could be from bad paint prepping but I’m not a paint guy so I don’t know, I’ll leave that to the professionals. There’s a hum coming from either the flywheel, clutch, or transmission when in 2nd and 3rd however It goes quite though when you press the clutch in. It drives and shifts great and I haven’t had any issues so I don’t know what the cause is. I do have a video of this if you would like to see it. Last but not least the flathead rear main seal and the transmission rear seal have a slight leak. This merc is being sold as is with no warranty implied. There are also the normal nicks, dings, and marks but nothing major. Everything is smaller than a half dime. This Merc is not a trailer queen. This is something that you can get in and drive and have a blast in with the family cruising. It shows really well and has won an award at every show it’s been at. It’s for sure the cleanest and nicest merc I’ve ever owned. The only thing it needs looks wise in my opinion is some spotlights which I just ordered and it will be a true ledsled. Here’s a walk around video of the Merc. https:/ youtu.be/xJZtL5DU5jo Please don’t bid if you don’t plan to buy. Exterior Interior Engine Download the Motors app
