1950 Chevrolet pickup 6 cylinder manual transmission. This is a really cool pickup that fills a unique niche. Picture this, you have a honey do list and you need to get a box of nails from the hardware store, a gallon of milk and eggs from the grocery store, then you need to go to get your hair cut. You go outside and it is a perfect day, not a cloud in they sky, not too hot, not too cold, you know the type. You reach for keys and you think geez I wish I could drive my 1957 Hardtop, but for sure some idiot will give me a door ding or what if you run into road construction, a rock chip would surely ruin your day, so you end up taking the mini van. Or there is a car showing/cruise night that you really want to go to, you spent all last night waxing your car, checking oil, etc, your all ready to go, hit the garage door opener, and crap there is this one dark rain cloud looming on the horizon, you mumble and grumble and end up driving the mini van again. That is where this pickup comes into play. Door dings ? Ha, not something you worry about. That rain cloud looming in the sky on your cruise night ? Ha, a little rain drops won"t hurt this a bit. Plus how many car shows have swap meets, most of them. Ever went to one and found a killer deal but didn"t want to put that greasy muncie 4 speed in your trunk, so you didn"t buy it. This pickup, throw it in the box and go. Like I said it fills a unique niche. Its a cool pickup, runs and drives great, and your not investing much money to own this pickup.
The paint is old, very possibly the original paint. It has scratches, dents, etc. Basically it has that very cool patina look. The body itself is in very good shape, you would be hard pressed to find a nicer body, so if you ever did decide to paint it you have a very nice foundation. The bumpers, grill, trim, etc are all original and matches what the body looks like. Nice, but they have flaws.
The motor is the stock 6 cylinder, very possibly the one it left the factory with. It runs great, fires right up, good solid motor. The transmission is the stock pickup/truck style transmission. Its a 4 speed, first is a granny gear perfect for idling through parades. If your driving around town most people just start in second. The synchros in second gear are a little worn. It shifts, but sometimes it complains. The rearend is the stock type rearend. Right now it is geared for in town cruising, but it would be very easy to change gears if you wanted to go on the highway. Overall the drivetrain is very dependable, it has some drips, but its never overheated on me, brakes work great, steers like it should, just a good old solid truck.
The interior is basically stock. At one time the seat, door panels, headliner, carpet were all replaced. They don"t look brand spanking new, but they look nice.
I hate to sell this but I"m loosing some storage. This is a great deal, don"t let this one pass you by.
I will accept cash when you pick it up or a bank wire transfer. I want a $1,000 deposit within 24 hours after the auction ends. I want the balance within 48 hours after the auction ends.
As part of my job I work with many trucking companies. So if you need help with shipping let me know and I"ll see what I can do.
