Vehicle description

This is a solid project starter. This truck came from a dedicated Studebaker pickup collector/restorer in California where he had the truck licensed until May of this year. This is the last of seven trucks from his estate and includes the 170ci 6-cyl engine, 3-spd (NO OD), redone interior and headliner, engine overhauled, brakes overhauled, new radiator, new 6v battery, low-mileage tires, and lots of new wiring. There is some visible surface rust under the tan primer. (enlarge photos and look carefully) The original collector had not gotten to the body yet so you can drive it as is, or begin the body restoration process as you desire. This truck is finicky to start and undoubtedly needs some TLC to become more reliable. It"s been sitting for a year or more. No heater. True Mileage Unknown.
These old trucks are hard to find in this condition but thankfully this one hasn"t seen much water/rust over the years in California. Truck is located in Kansas City area and can be picked up locally or shipped coast to coast. (At your cost of course.) I would NOT plan on driving this truck home. You"ll want a trailer until you"ve had a chance to go over it carefully. It is sold as-is with no warranty.
We"ve sold all the other estate trucks to delighted buyers with no complaints. This is the last one. Don"t to miss it. Though certainly far from "show-ready" this is a solid old truck and would make a great starting point for a winter restoration project during the pandemic by either amateur or professional.
We are NOT Studebaker experts in any sense. We"ve sold late model luxury cars for the past 20 years but we will TRY to answer any questions if we can. Thanks for looking and good luck! Some lucky bidder is going to win because this is a NO RESERVE AUCTION! No tricks. No games. No reserve price. High bidder takes it home.
