Nice family cruiser Reach out for more information and photos This is a classic original survivor car that will always go up in value, there are not many of these left! Check out the Youtube video here: https:/ www.youtube.com/channel/UCEoYidMvex5nnLisAvbrDuQ/featured The 98 Futuramic was the TOP of the line back in the day. This was the family car to have back in 49. My dad and I roll to car shows and hang out together and we have three girls and take it out all the time. This is just a fun car to drive and to go out and grab ice cream on a Friday night with the kids. They love taking Instagram photos with it. It seats six people! Most of these were chopped or made into a Rat Rod. This is a survivor and kept original. What you do with it is up to you. There were about 16,200 of these De-Luxe Club Sedan' made. Who knows how many are left. Not sure how many were Futuramic's? This was the FIRST year for the "Rocket" engine. Original engine and trans rebuilt 60,000 miles ago. 303ci "ROCKET" V8 (rebuilt by Badgley's Garage East Lansing MI.) The "ROCKET" was the first post-war OHV crossflow cylinder head V8 engine produced by General Motors. (They put the OHV in the Cadillac to that year.) • Bore 3-3/4" • Stroke 3-7/16" • Compression ratio -7.25:1 • Horsepower - 135@ 3600 RPM • Torque - 263 @ 1800 RPM • Five main bearings • Hydraulic valve lifters • Carburetor - Carter WGD two-barrel • Oil-filled air cleaner The windshield is a two-piece and the LAST year. In 1950 they came out with the one piece. 98 was the best model of the day, Vs. the 76 and 88, the 98 came standard with the 4 Speed Hydra-Matic Drive Transmission. The frame is an "X-Member" Construction, super strong and original back in the day. The suspension was rebuilt about five years ago or so. Suspension - Is a Quadri-Coil Springing, With a Knee-Action front suspension and heavy coil springs at the rear. 4-Way Stabilization through dual stabilizing arms, front and rear stabilizers, and lateral stabilizer at the rear. Double-action hydraulic shock absorbers, front, and rear. The DeLuxe 98 package had a rear center seat armrest, front and rear floor mats, special chrome body moldings, electric clock, De-Luxe steering wheel, stainless steel wheel trim rings. Upholstery choices were Bedford cord, broadcloth, leather, and leather/cloth combinations. (this one has grey cloth) Steering - Dual center-Control. Worm and double-rolling design. No power. Tires are brand new - Diamond Back I - 225/75/R15 with 3-3/8" white walls. Originally had Bias PLY tires, those sucked and did not drive well, the new radial tires are waaay better! Breaks - Super-Hydraulic, self-energizing type. Four-wheel manual drum brakes with cast-iron braking surfaces. The breaks were done about five years ago or so. Chassis - The wheelbase is 125" what makes for a crazy smooth ride. This is meant for the road and comfort. Overall length is 213" (just under 18' and will fit in the garage) For some original info about this car: http:/ wildaboutcarsonline.com/members/AardvarkPublisherAttachments/9990499193727/1949_FO_Brochure_pts_1-18_in_slices.pdf http:/ wildaboutcarsonline.com/cgi-bin/pub9990262549620.cgi?itemid=9990499193727&action=viewad&categoryid=9960447178948 https:/ www.hemmings.com/stories/article/1948-1949-oldsmobile-ninety-eight-series Here is the 5-year trend of the pricing: The average is $44,000 https:/ www.classic.com/m/oldsmobile/98/3rd-gen/year-1949/?interval=5y https:/ en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oldsmobile_V8_engine https:/ en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Overhead_valve_engine Crest blue paint with grey cloth interior New'ish • Exhaust • Brake hoses • Shocks • Battery – 6-Volt • Tires (Diamond Back 3 3/8" white wall) • Radio - with a plug to attach your phone.
