Vehicle description
This jeep was my project in high school about 5 years ago. It"s been kept in the garage since then. Starts and runs like a champ, the engine (original 4 cylinder L-head) was rebuilt just before I got it, so very low hours. We had the transmission rebuilt, shifts like the day it was made. Body and paint ("46 Harvest Tan scheme even though this is a "47 by serial number) is in excellent condition, interior protected with color matched bed liner. Hat channels are like new, no rust.
Deviations/Missing Pieces - No windshield wipers, and steering box and column are taken from a CJ-5. As a result it tracks straight as an arrow, not a hint of "Willys Wobble". 12 V electric system with alternator. Has aftermarket turn signals, rear view mirror, and seat belts. Tires are 17"s, all in good shape, including the spare.
This thing is in show condition, but it"s also derivable, within its inherent constraints. Top speed is about 40-45 mph, and that"s pushing it. But it starts and runs like a top, drives extremely well considering its over 70 years old. Perfect car for afternoon drives and trips to the car show.
Includes a roll cage and tow bar. The roll cage has been cut down to fit below the CJ-2a windshield, not something you see all that often.
