Vehicle description

1948 Chevrolet Pickup Hot Rod. My personal vehicle which I built over a 2 year period beginning September 2015. Most of the build time was spent replacing any/all rusted panels and supports and building the chassis. Since then I"ve continued to tinker making additions and upgrades but spend most of the time driving it. It runs and drives great and is amazing on the freeway. This is a true driver which can also be used as a truck was intended. I love the truck as is and get compliments every time I"m out. To take the truck to the next level would require paint/body and interior however, i don"t see that happening under my ownership.
I"ve been an member since 2001 with a 100% feedback rating. I believe in being honest and accurate with my descriptions. I"m always happy to answer questions and to send additional photos. I photo-documented the build somewhat regularly so I have many more photos.
Below are the specifications of this truck.
1948 Chevy 3100 Pickup Original VIN tag with matching title (Ohio) in my name. All steel except for rear fenders which are fiberglass. Panels and supports were replaced with reproductions. Glass is original(small crack in rear window) Original bench seat with new cover. New Kwik-wire harness. New reproduction headlight, marker and tail light assemblies. Ididit tilt steering column, column shift. Borgeson steering joints and shaft.
Motor is a basically stock Gen1 Small Block Chevy 350 with recent rebuild and some aftermarket speed parts(Holley,MSD). Transmission is GM TH350 recently freshened and resealed. Champion aluminum radiator Spal electric fan. Odyssey Extreme Series Battery
Chassis is from a 1985 Chevy S10 regular cab, long bed. Sandblasted and given 2 coats of POR15. Custom cab mounts Custom 4 link rear suspension Fat Man Fabrication tubular front control arms QA1 coilover"s on on all 4 corners. Stock S10 disc front brakes with stainless braided lines. All new. All new moog front suspension parts. ZQ8 front sway bar. GM 8.5 rear end (non posi) with Buick finned aluminum drums. New wheel cylinders, shaft and cover seals. Driveshaft is 3.5" aluminum from Crown Vic P71. New Strange Eng. front yoke. New u-joints. All new front and rear brake lines. Stock s10 power steering box. New lines. 7" power brake booster with GM master cylinder and proportioning valve. Mounted under cab. RCI 17 gallon fuel cell.
Wheels are Boss Motorsports 20" rear, 18" front Tires were installed new April 2019
Both the underside of the cab, including a portion of the firewall have received an application of Scorpion spray on bed liner. The same treatment has been given to the inside of the cab on the firewall and floorpans.
As mentioned, the truck could use body work and paint but is virtually rust/rot free. The truck did have some body and metal work done to it and was completely painted at some point prior to my purchase. Some of the work was sub-par and therefore addressed by me. The paint shows orange peel and drips in the clear coat. The cab corners were replaced at that time and look good however, I did not perform the work. There are 2 areas on the lower rear of the cab just inward of the cab corners which I"d consider to be the areas most in need of bodywork. Likely not a big deal to an autobody professional however, I just want to be upfront. Unfortunately I wasn"t able to capture clear photos of these areas due to their location.
A lot went into this project. Built by me, for me. To me this truck is perfect the way it is yet still has tons of potential to be taken to the next level. Unfortunately I"m not the guy to take it there hence the reason for selling.
Additionally, I am happy to send videos or additional pictures to those interested.
Will gladly answer any questions you may have. Thank you.
